Kathy Livingston is a psychotherapist and clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, parents and families.  She is a client-centered therapist who is committed to helping people of all genders and sexual identities. 

Kathy is an integrative therapist utilizing trauma-informed practice, attachment-based therapy, family systems therapy, psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Additionally, Kathy believes the connection between mind and body is central to how we shape our thoughts, express emotion and behave in the world. She incorporates mindfulness techniques when helpful.

Kathy has extensive experience helping clients with mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, processing trauma, navigating divorce and blended families and women’s issues. Kathy works with children (age 12+) and adolescents who are challenged by self-esteem issues, learning differences, emotional dysregulation and managing the social difficulties of growing up in today’s world. Kathy also provides therapy for adults of all ages dealing with life transitions, relationships, parenting challenges and aging.

Prior to joining FPS, Kathy was the clinical director at a community mental health agency on the north shore of Chicago. Her master’s in clinical social work is from the University of Chicago.
