“Empowering you to become your best self.”
Hey there! My name is Dr. Megan Donnelly, and I am a Post-Doctoral Fellow and licensed School Psychologist who specializes in working with children and adolescents. After practicing in the schools, I am eager to bring my expertise to private practice.
Having worked as a full-time school psychologist for two years, I have supported students with a variety of needs. I have experience completing psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluations, working collaboratively with clients, families, and schools to come up with a plan that best supports each individual’s growth. My approach to both therapy and assessment is grounded in a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming philosophy. I believe in empowering individuals by emphasizing their strengths and recognizing the context of their lives, which includes family, community, and educational systems. I take an ecological perspective to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each person and their needs.
In therapy, my focus is on building genuine connections where individuals feel safe, supported, and free to grow. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental environment that is both trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming. I am committed to providing evidence-based therapies rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and always consider the holistic context of the individual when offering support.
As a neurodivergent woman myself, I truly understand the value of empowering, affirming support and strive to provide that for each person I work with. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where individuals can feel understood, respected, and empowered to thrive in their own unique way.
My Background
I hold a M.S. in Psychology and Ph.D. in School Psychology from Illinois State University (go Redbirds!). After working full-time as a nationally-certified School Psychologist (NCSP) in the school setting, I am eager to bring my expertise to private practice. Currently, I am a Post-Doctoral Fellow working toward becoming a licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP).
